About AYO
Adirondack Youth Orchestra (AYO) was founded in 1985 to establish a forum for talented young musicians to further enhance their music education by performing symphonic music in a regional orchestra.
The orchestra provides area youth with opportunities to:

- • Study under professional conductors
- • Refine individual technique
- • Develop and practice professional habits
- • Interact with musicians from a variety of schools and backgrounds
- • Perform as a team
- • Share their talents with area audiences
- • Enjoy the social benefits of performing and playing a musical instrument
AYO performs a wide range of historical and contemporary literature by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Bizet, Respighi, Copland, Bernstein, Smith, Ford, Strommen, and more.
