About AYOA

Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association

Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association was founded in 1985 to establish a forum for talented young musicians to perform symphonic music from a variety of historical periods. AYOA provides the opportunity for area youth to further enhance their music education in various ways: members interact with other musicians; refine their technique; develop professional habits; learn to perform as a team; and share their talents with the North Country.

The Association is supported financially by individual and business donors and contributors. We are also the recipient of a New York State Council on the Arts decentralization grant administered by the Council on the Arts for Clinton County.

Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who set policy for the organization. The Board meets monthly to discuss and plan AYOA programs.

Musicians are recruited from all sectors of the North Country. We believe the orchestra provides a valuable service for our youth. We have been able to sustain growth over the years because of our partnership with the community, our dedicated musicians, their parents and teachers, which leads to growth and success through music.
